A child Mu, running in an endless darkness where the only sounds heard is his own ragged breath, footfalls, and erratically beating heart. There are tears running down his face from pure exhaustion, but his hands are closed into fists and even though his feet are bleeding and his muscles hurts really badly he is stubborn and keeps running. He thinks he's going to die but he wants to see his brethren, the other fanalis, on the other side of the great rift, so so badly that he refuses to give up. If there was a place where he belonged, then he wanted to see it.

The walls of the old, shabby apartment building in Haven is covered in blood, but that's not all. There are hands sticking out as well. Creepy, dead-looking hands grabbing after the people passing through the corridors. A creepy, unfamiliar tune is heard from the old mobile phone in his hand and when he tried to turn off the noise he had no success with it so he puts it away. He has bigger priorities than the phone flipping out. As he heads through the corridor he has to pull his thick long mane of red hair free from the hands grabbing at it (some hands end up getting torn right out of the wall with a sickly sound of breaking bones and bubbling blood) until he reaches one of the rooms he was heading for. A man with short hair and glasses is in the room and Mu is worried when he sees him. The man - apparently named Reim - smells different from usual, and he acts differently, too. He's possessed but something (a ghost) and there is nothing Mu can do about no matter how he tells the ghost to get out of his friend and turn him back to normal he can't hurt the possessed person and the ghost knows it. The ghost, however, doesn't care if its vessel or the person it's talking to gets hurt and he slams his forehead hard against Mu's nose and then point a gun at him. When the ghost realizes that Mu is not going to hurt the vessel however, it breaks free after a long string of bantering ("alright , puppy--heel," the ghost tells him at one point) and heads out. When Mu follows he accidentally walks right through the wall between the apartment and the corridor, causing debris to fall and dust to rise and make him cough, and the ghost takes that opportunity to flee.

A very important conversation happens. It's about plants. Mu is sitting beside a young girl and her familiar is in her lap. They're outside in the wrecked town, sitting on a slab of stone from a crumbled building, and there are no signs of plants or animals around. There are only dirty and worn people, everyone looking as if they have not had a proper meal in months. With the help of the familiar Nii-chan, the girl (Lady Shiemi, Mu calls her, while she calls him Mu-san) summons various kinds of plants. She tells him what she calls them (not the actual names of the plants) and what they can be used for, and he listens with interest, asking questions when there is something that he wonders. Despite the gloomy atmosphere of the town, the two of them are in a good mood and it's fun to talk to friends.

It's stupid and he knows it. But he made the choice to stay in the small, dirty, dark prison that they had been placed in some days earlier, instead of running away. He hates being chained, but he refused to escape because he knew that if he did, someone else, an innocent person brainwashed into being a prison warden, brainwashed into thinking that the prisoners were enemies that deserved to die. It wasn't their fault that they had been brainwashed into thinking that, though, and Mu didn't want to cause the death of someone that didn't understand what was really going on. So he stayed--although he had made sure, together with Lady Izumo and Masaomi, that Lady Shiemi would survive--and now he was staring at a person that held a rifle in their hands. He gritted his teeth, well aware that time was running out, for now. He didn't trust the revival system, but he wasn't afraid of death, even though he knew he should not stare down the barrel of the rifle with such stubbornness and spite. The Yao Corporation had a crooked view on what loyalty was, and he didn't care if he failed their so-called "test", because of how much he disagreed with them.

A woman is sitting among the debris, singing and playing on an empty food can and a wooden plank. Mu had jumped up on top of the apartment building, only to find that the wild, magical garden that usually grew up there (and tried to kill people) was not there, simply because he has gone up to the rooftop by the outside of the building instead of using the stairs, and he can hear her even from the distance. When he jumps down from the several stories ghigh building and joins her, a conversation about the differences of music in their world engages the both of them. Lady Rose, as he calls her, comes from a world with electronic devices that can play music, computers and ipods and stuff, and his country is much more old fashioned, but at least he knows how to play drums? He is better at dnacing though, and he promises that he will show her his favorite kind of swords dance once he has swords fit for it. 

People have gathered to go in a group up to Haven North, and Mu is among those people. Not that he can't make it through the tunnels without breaking a sweat but he likes to help out where he can. And he talks to a person that he knows from before (a guy that makes close to no sense on a good day) despite the guy addressing him as "the avid reader of fanfiction" this time around. It's always something new, and he never gets his name correctly. Mu has more or less given up on correcting him by now. The reason why the tunnels tend to be dangerous is because there are dangerous creatures in them. Mu doesn't like to call them monsters just because they are mindless beasts, because he himself is a monster, in his eyes, because he's not entirely human. It's complicated and he has a lot of issues surrounding it. None the less, him and Sakamoto has different opinions on the creatures. Sakamoto finds them creepy, while Mu just finds them bothersome at the most. The two of them, as the conversation rolls on (apparently scavenging = grocery shopping to Sakamoto) decide that they will go exploring the tunnels further together later, once this expedition is over.

He's stuck in a metal chair, his movements restricted despite his inhuman strength, and there is another man in the chair beside him. In front of them is a man in a lab coat that turns out to be called Dr. Kite, and he's someone that Mu knows has tortured some of his friends before. He hates the man since he first heard of him because of that. Kite taunts, describing in detail how he operated on Mu's younger sister, his most precious person, describes how she screamed in pain and died in agony. In retaliation, because it's the only thing he can do besides cursing the doctor, Mu bites his hand when it comes close enough. The hand is torn to pieces by his string jaws and sharp teeth, but it heals quickly, the scales of a lizard visible for a few moments. Then Kite starts to tear at him. Slowly, methodically, with the calm and interested expression of a scientist performing an experiment. He tears him apart piece by piece, fingers, hands, elbows, arms. He pulls bones from muscles and at first Mu manages to stop himself from screaming, but in the end it's impossible.

A glare is being directed at him. One of his friends is patching him up after a fight that went awry (why didn't that guy he had been fighting bleed? There were a lot of whys about that guy) and Dylas is upset with him for it. He gets even more annoyed with him when Mu won't eat the food that he thinks he needs to eat, because Mu has lost so much weight and he's hurt on top of that. "I can't," Mu explains, "when I try to eat, ever since the spiral sacrificail chamber, I have been unable to." He explains that when he eats, everything he puts in his mouth feels as if they're crawling worms, moving inside of him, down his throat and through his body. It's all because what Kite did. Ever since Mu saw Ryuugamine puke up maggots and turn into maggots from the inside out, and ever since the same happened to Mu, he has been having that mental barrier. He knows it's all in his head, yet he can't ignore the sensation that makes him want to throw up. It only gets worse because the feeling constantly reminds him of how he failed to save Ryuugamine and Masaomi from Kite. Hearing all this makes Dylas even angrier, but at Kite, this time. At least Kite is dead now, although it doesn't help this problem.

Izumo is a peculiar guy. Peculiar in a completely different way from Sakamoto. He also likes to hit on Mu, like commenting on his muscles and trying to talk him into casual sex. Mu has learned to mostly ignore it, even if some of the things he said made him blush. Another thing that makes him blush is Izumo shoving his remaining hand in through the sides of Mu's improvised toga and squeeze his pecs. Mu sputters and Izumo calls him cute. Mu tries to fend him off without using too much force but Izumo is like a snake that refuses to let go, sometimes. When he kisses him Mu finally pushes him off though, and Izumo grins a shameless grin at him. "C'mon, you haven't gotten laid since you got here, right? An adorable, big muscular guy like you must be popular, I'll be nice." Mu shakes his head, and tries to push down the blush. "You need to stop doing things like this, you'll get hurt one day." Of course, that only motivates Izumo further, since a guy that cares so much is also adorable, so "why not let this sweet little treasure hunter into your bed for a while~?" but he's repeatedly turned down.

Haven is a horrifying place, and sometimes you need to relax. Mu's newly adopted family member Masaomi is making party glasses out of pipe cleaners, and Mu has come to try it out with him. It's not going all that well for him, though, because the little metal string in the pipe cleaners breaks like brittle egg shells in his hands. Masaomi thinks it's hilarious, at least, so Mu doesn't mind the failure. As long as the people that he cares for are happy, he's happy.

◎ Personality: Mu is the type of person who is usually found wearing a warm expression. He is a kind person who likes to make people happy regardless of whether he’s just met them or he’s known them for a great length of time. For example, he doesn’t treat the people who look up to him like they’re just subordinates. In fact, he cares a lot about everyone who works under him in the Fanalis Corps. They’re all people he gathered, to help the Fanalis who were being mistreated and to protect the empire and the people within it. He is unquestioningly loyal to toward his benefactor, Lady Scheherazade, and after her death, to her clone and son Titus, and to his family. The Fanalis Corps, too, is his family. Although lately he has been worried about what his family really thinks about him and their situation (the fact that they aren’t truly human but rather monsters from another world), he still loves them so much that he would do pretty much anything for them without hesitating. Unlike many men of nobility, Mu is very humble and doesn’t see himself as better than anyone else. He may be a member of one of Reim’s most prominent families, but it doesn't change the fact that he is fair and treats people as equally as he is able to.

Like mentioned before, Mu is cheerful and caring towards the people most important to him. He’s also warm to people that he doesn’t know and has never met before. He's shameless in his affections, and Mu greatly enjoys physical contact like hugs. He’s also a true gentleman, and he’s very popular with women and men of the nobility, and with the common people. It doesn’t stop there, though; many people are drawn to him wherever he goes thanks to his sunny disposition and warm smile. His kind and warm attitude also makes him a very popular figure in his country, and he owes all of that to how he treats everyone like they’re his equal.

Mu is the kind of man who refrains from vulgar and impolite speech whenever possible. He is very polite and respectful. When someone he cares about is mocked or threatened, he quickly fights on their behalf. Generally, he’s very laid-back, though—there are exceptions. Even when he’s flung into a wall after trying to break up a fight between his little sister and one of his subordinates, he just laughs it off and remarks about how strong his subordinate has become.

He’s also not the kind of man who gets easily embarrassed, but the right individual can certainly coax him into blushing or feeling awkward. Flirting is not something uncommon for him to experience; he is popular and he is an aristocrat of a very prominent family and there are many women that wants to become the next Lady Alexius, but if sexual intent is implied he can get embarrassed. He can also be embarrassed by praise, especially when it comes from Lady Scheherazade. She tells him things about how he looks best when he smiles if he’s been looking too serious, for example. He also gets embarrassed by crude talk despite being very used to it. His soldiers often talk about their exploits, and it tends to be a bit too explicit for his tastes.

Mu is also a very talkative man. He doesn’t like when a sudden silence takes over a conversation and the entire mood becomes awkward. He might interrupt with random nonsense to dispel the silence, but it’s not because he’s an unintelligent man. He might seem like he’s only muscles and no brain, but he’s very perceptive and cleve. He tries to set a good example by being polite even when people are being disrespectful to him or his fellow Fanalis. He wants his Corps to follow in his footsteps in that regard. It’s in their nature to be aggressive, but he wants everyone to see that they’re more than that (even if he has trouble holding back himself sometimes). He’s used to it by now and that helps him resist some of his other wild urges. Everything he does is to help people be at ease while around him.

And speaking of his wild urges, Mu is often found at the colosseum. He’s so popular there that the arena becomes even more popular when he visits, and it’s all thanks to his reputation as Reim’s strongest swordsman and as the empire’s lynchpin. And he knows he’s their strongest, too. He sees no reason to be shy abou that fact, and he tries to use his reputation to his advantage. He always tries to put on good matches for the people that are watching, and he sometimes meets people there, too, like Alibaba who had come to practice his swordsmanship. Mu is an excellent judge of character and skill, and he could recognize Alibaba’s potential right away, and this all comes from his years of working hard to be the best he can be.

Being popular and putting on good shows at the arena is another example of Mu’s charisma. Even when people have closed their hearts, Mu is able to get them to open up to him. Even ice queens have a hard time not talking to him again and again and again. He’s well-liked among all of his subordinates, and he has a natural ability to lead. He wouldn’t have had the job for so long if he didn’t; he inspires people.

He knows when not to be cheerful, too, though. When he senses danger or that something is threatening the sfety of the empire, he becomes very serious. He’s even more serious when people are threatening those that he cares about. One time this happened was when he felt that Magnostadt, the magician country, was targeting Lady Scheherazade and Reim. He suspected them of invading the empire’s territory. He put himself into action right away, vowing to become Scheherazade’s sword and to always protect the empire. It makes sense, because his determination is harder than steel. He won’t bend his opinions to anyone who compromises the safety of his home or mocks his Lady. He’s really not the type to hold grudges, though, unless it’s to protect his family and friends. Being Fanalis, however, they usually don’t need his help.

There are a few things that get under Mu’s skin, though. He thinks that a few things are unnatural, such as the existence of the Fanalis and Lady Scheherazade’s clone, Titus. Being a Fanalis is complicated, though. They aren’t just “not humans” who look human. In their homeland, they look truly monstrous, and Mu is the only person who has ever made it to their homeland and returned. Ever since returning, he’s felt insecure and out of place, as if he left a part of true self behind.

Another part of being a Fanalis is that he always thirsts for battle. He feels alive in the heat of combat, and in combat he’s completely ruthless. It’s completely different from his normal personality. His smile is more scary than kind, and he shows no remorse to enemies on the battlefield, crushing them without a second thought. He likes it when his fights are challenging and when the opponents put up resistance. Of course, even if they put up resistance, Mu never plans on losing. He won’t let himself lose.

One thing that made Mu feel guilty in life was that he has wished that Titus had died instead of Scheherazade. He realizes now how important life is, and wishing death on someone who isn’t your enemy is unexcusable to him, and it was so even earlier, which made him feel even worse about it.


◎ Powers/Abilities:

• Master swordsman: He is very skilled with the sword, and is known to be Reim Empire's strongest swordsman.
• Fanalis senses/abilities: As a Fanalis, he has enhanced strength, and although he is not pure blood fanalis and thus not as strong as the pure bloods, he can still crush stone with his feet, and throw huge rocks great distances. As all other Fanalis, he also has exceptional speed, as well as superior hearing and sense of smell. He can also, as of his previous game, take the true form of Fanalis, which are a kind of a red lion, with steel skin.
• Barbatos: Mu once conquered the dungeon named Barbatos, and thus recieved the Djinn residing there, as a reward. Barbatos is a strength Djinn and the Djinn of the Spirit of Hunting and Nobility, which is very suitable to a Fanalis. He has a household, that can share the powers of Barbatos, consisting of at least his sister Muron, and his subordinate Rohroh.
• Metal Vessel Bard Romh (Barbatos' Javelin): Barbatos's powers can be called forth through the sword Metal Vessel that Mu always carries at his side. Using Bard Rohm, it is able to produce shock waves using Strength Magic, whih is able to fly across long distances. The shock waves can come in many forms, depending on how it is used; i.e. a punch looks like a bullet and a sword would cause a slash.
• Djinn Equip: Djinn Equip is when a Dungeon Capturer use their Metal Vessel to allow themself to become one with their Djinn. Mu's Djinn Equip make him look like a lion, and in this form, he get even more increased speed and power than his half-fanalis blood give him. His body when using Djinn Equip has, by his subordinates, been compared to becoming a "sword capable of breaking through anything". However, as a fanalis, he also has a low quantity of Magoi (pure power, created from Rukh; sort of all lifes energy) and he can only keep his Djinn Equip for one minute.
• Djinn Weapon Equip: This is when a Dungeon Capturer does not use full Djinn Equip, and only transforms their Metal Vessel into a weapon. Mu's Metal Vessel is his sword, and when he uses Djinn Weapon Equip, it changes into a javelin. The Bard Rohm is capable of easily breaking through rocks and barriers in an instant.
• True Fanalis Form: Gained in Haven, Mu has aquired the ability to take full Fanalis shape, which is a red metallic red beast. He's still a newbie at it and it's very painful, but he knows how to do it, and is practicing.

First Mu was relieved to find his sister in Haven; at least until he learned that Haven was not the sort of place anyone would want to be. It's a place of horror, after all. She soon disappeared, however, which left him very worried and wanting to know what happened when people disappeared. The first person that he met (who disappeared before his sister did) was a roommate that instantly pissed Mu off and managed to be one of the rare entries on Mu's permanent dislike list.

He met two of the people that would come to be very important to him during his stay in Haven early on. First he met Rosalina Nurumi (or Lady Rose, as he called her) who would become a great friend and pridemember (since fanalis are lions) and he would become a member of her pack (because she happened to be a wolf). He also met Reim Lunettes, whom Mu would become very protective of. He stopped Reim from falling into a well and shocked Reim - because he was lifting him easily with only one hand - and then further shocked the man when he told him that the country he served happened to be named Reim as well. Another friend he gained, whom would teach him a lot about flowers (although not the real names) was Moriyama Shiemi, and Mu would accompany both her and Reim to Haven North, since the way there was dangerous and he didn't want either Reim or Shiemi to get hurt. Later on he would meet a man called Izumo-no-Takeru, who kept on flirting with Mu, which was awkward to say the least. Many times, Izumo ended up embarrassing Mu with his sexual straightforwardness.

He was allowed to return home briefly while Haven was suffering from earthquakes and returned unsure if his master Lady Scheherazade was safe or not. At least he knew his sister was, but he was worried that his master might be dead. And it didn't help that half of Haven's populance had been kidnapped by a man called Doctor Kite, and that a big chunk of people had gone to rescue them. He stuck around the residences to make sure that those still around stayed as safe as they coul. Because Shiemi had been experimented on by Doctor Kite, Mu decided that if he was given the chance, he was going to murder the doctor. This was also an incident that made Mu decide to teach Reim how to defend himself better. Reim was the one that he was closest to at the time, and after he paid another visit to his own world, and his master was dead, it was Reim he went to talk to about it.

Next time new people arrived a reminder of home arrived in the form of two people from an enemy country; Ren Kouha and Ren Kougyoku. Although he didn't exactly hit it off with Kouha, Mu and Kougyoku agreed to a ceasefire until they returned home. They would end up growing fairly closer, and become budding friends. Kouha on the other hand was harder to grow close to. He was also taught by a boy called Kida Masaomi that piñatas are vicious monsters filled with candy, and no one has taught him differently this far.

Speaking of Masaomi, Mu would grow close to him as well, and Mu was one of the few who didn't shun or send angry glares at the boy once it was revealed that Masaomi worked for their kidnappers (the Yao Corporation). Because Mu might have ended up joining too, had his sister ended up staying much longer than she did. After all, you could get benefits if you joined Yao and if joining meant that he could protect his most important person, then so be it. So he understood Masaomi's reasons behind joining. He would also grow fond of the boy, who would teach him a lot of weird things and eventually, Mu would adopt him into the Alexius family. That happened later but it happened. Masaomi is part of Mu's family.

Well, life went by as normal in Haven, with random horrors happening once in a while. One big thing that had a bit of an impact on him and his relationship with Reim was that Reim was possessed by a ghost seeking vengeance. The ghost realized that while Mu was threatening it, he was all bark and no bite because the ghost was currently in Reim's body, and Mu would never hurt Reim. It did make Mu wreck the wall between Reim's room and the corridor though, because Mu stepped right through it. When Reim came back to his senses after the ghosts were exorcised, Mu ended up sleeping on Reim's couch for quite a while, to make sure that Reim, who wanted to keep doing his chores like normal despite being hurt and needing rest, rested. Besides, Mu also needed to repeair the wall that he broke. This ordeal made Mu even more protective of Reim than he already was. But since they spent a lot of time together while Mu stayed in Reim's quarters, they got a lot of time to talk. Political conversations made Mu realize that he had become more open to other people's opinions.

A month later he ended up in a prison with other people, such as Masaomi and Shiemi, and Shemi's friend Kamiki Izumo (who was a girl, so while the Izumo that Mu already knew was sir Izumo, this girl was Lady Izumo). They got to know that they were prisoners, and that they were to be tested on their loyalty. They would win if they escaped and if they didn’t escape they would die. But if they escaped, the prison warden who had been linked to them by a necklace explosive would be killed. The wardens happened to be other people from Haven, and they had been brainwashed, and Mu didn't want to have the death of someone innocent on his conscience. But he also wanted to make sure that at least Shiemi survived. So he, Lady Izumo and Masaomi made a plan to make sure that Shiemi escaped, which they succeeded with. Since Mu didn't escape, he was executed, gaining a brand reading ‘defective’ over his heart.

One of the incidents that made him grow closer to Kougyoku was the time when younger versions of them stalked them and told everyone within earshot about their deepest secrets and things that they were ashamed of. What he heard from the young version of Kougyoku made him feel that she was more of a person and less of a royal. Of course, she was still a royal, but she was also a normal human being. Which he already knew of course, but it was different once you got to hear a person's secrets and regrets, it made it more real.

After the apartment building that they lived in collapsed and they ended up in new housing, Mu ended up in a fight with Pyramid Head. Mu happened to lose that fight, and was killed. Due to the revival system however, he didn't remain dead. Instead he gained a scar around his neck, because Pyramid Head had ripped his head off. This made him be uncomfortable with people touching his neck, as well as making him consider cutting his hair. "People" apparently fought dirty in Haven. Once Reim found out and scolded Mu, Mu promised that he would be more careful and try not to be so reckless again. Easier said than done of course but he could at least try, and think things through a bit more. "Don't just act on impulse, Mu," or something like that. Which is hard because he's fanalis and they have a lot of impulses, but fanalis tends to have a easy to anger and he already did a pretty good job at reigning that in.

And he did try, but a guy called Yomiel that Mu shoot him in his feet and brought him to Doctor Kite (whom Mu bites in the hand), who tore him apart slowly, limb by limb. Mu feels ghost pain from it still, and doesn't particularly like it when people pull at him because of this. He'll do his best to mask any discomfort though, because he doesn't want to worry anyone and he doesn't want to seem weird. As an effect of dying, he was shown an illusion of his sister bleeding to death in front of his eyes for several days straight, he still have nightmares about it. He's going to be even more protective of her if she ever is in a game with him again because of it. Either way, during this period of time, he met another person who would come to be very important to him. Dylas wasn't exactly used to comforting people though he didn't know that simply talking to Mu was helping just a little. Later, the incident with Kite comes up in conversation with Kougyoku, and she scolds him about biting such a dangerous person, and she is worried about him, which actually makes him happy, since they started out as enemies. Not long after, Kougyoku disappears and since Mu had been the last one to see her in the murder maze that they had been dropped into, he feels incredible guilt about it. He feels that it's his fault that she disappeared and he's been worried ever since.

When half of Haven's population ends up in another prison, Mu ends up in a cell with Masaomi and two of Masaomi's friends (Anri and Mikado). This prison is not one that they can escape, and it's a pretty calm place. That doesn't last however, because groups of three get brought to a sacrifical chamber where Doctor Kite sacrifices them to the Uzumaki. Mu gets brought to the sacrifial chamber together with Masaomi and Mikado. Mikado dies first, vomiting up worms, until his insides turns to worms and his whole body turns into worms. Mu tries to help - and threatens Kite despite being unable to do anything - and then Mu starts to cough up maggots, and turns into maggots so he dies just like Mikado did. He was revived after but after that the revival machine is broken so death becomes permanent. That's of course a big concern since Haven happened to be Haven but there were more important things going on for Mu. For example there was the anger at himself and the regret that he was unable to save the two boys, and the anger at Kite. (At least Kite was killed, and stayed dead.) And then there was his sudden inability to eat. Because of the sensation of puking up maggots, he kept feeling as if any food that he put into his mouth started wiggling around and he became unable to eat. He had to force himself because he knew that he had to eat something but it was hard and he lost a whole lot of weight because of it. He also couldn't eat around other people because of the part where he had to foce the food down and having the urge (that he often couldn't resist) to throw the food right back up, and he can’t really handle looking at worms or maggots, either. He has also, thanks to Kite, developed a bit of a paranoia toward spirals.

One time, for several days, Haven is flooded. They can't live inside their houses and there are torrents in the water trying to suck people down. Mu helps people out, and also starts to construct a shelter of debris. After he goes temporarily blind, he still does his best to help people. He also gets the chance to apologize to Mikado (he's already apologized to Masaomi) but despite the boys forgiving him, he can't get over his guilt. The incident with Kite in the sacrifical chamber only gave him more fuel for nightmares and he's far from getting over them. After the water dries the housing spiral that they live in slides down into a sinkhole. By then Mu has his eyesight back.

After Rose is hurt and Mu patches her up, despite her protests, he finds a post on the network where a woman calls Rose a monster and tells people that Rose is going to kill them all. Which is not true. Rose might be a werewolf but she's a sweet girl and she wouldn't eat people on purpose, which the woman Jo claims. So Jo ends up on Mu's shitlist for all eternity, and Mu and Dylas calls Rose to talk to her together, because she means a lot to the both of them.

When rebels attacks Haven and Mu is attacked by one called Zacharia, Mu gets hurt by the rebel, and saved by Dylas. Dylas patches him up and because Zach also pulled at Mu's hair just like Pyramid Head did, Mu decides to cut his hair short. There's much less to grab onto if it's not really realy long. Later, people's inhibitions are loosened and Mu proceeds to give people that he cares about cheek and forehead kisses and sudden hugs, which riles up Dylas and makes Dylas use his electricity powers on Mu. Mu is fine but Dylas thinks that Mu now hates him and avoids Mu. Mu refuses to accept it when Dylas tries to break off their friendship over it. They ended up arguing over it but in the end they did manage to sort things out, although Mu worries that Dylas is still afraid that Mu will suddenly cast him aside.

Then suddenly one day Yao offered to give people something that they dreamed of. In Mu's case, that was the ability to shapeshift into the true form of the fanalis, which are beastly, red metal lions. He was given this ability, but as price many thick scales grew out of his skin very painfully and he was stuck with having red scales in patches over his body. The shapeshifting itself is also very painful.

Then one day, suddenly, a message was heard; that everyone would be put into storage for the refurbishing of Haven West. Mu was suspicious of this, and doubting that they're speaking the truth, arms himself and makes sure he has everything he might need, and everything important, with him.

Right after the shutdown of Haven, Mu woke up in a completely different, but also shabby, place. He found that he was in a place very different from Haven, and also very different from his own world. He learns that Tanagura is a place based on sex, and a caste system. There are two castes and Mu belongs to the lower, and is a Mongrel, which means that there are areas where he is not allowed to go and things he is not allowed to do. Like touch the people of the other caste, the Elites. Which is frustrateing because he finds out that one of his closest friends from Haven, Dylas, is an Elite. At least Izumo and Rose are both Mongrels and he can act normally around them without thinking of any backlash from authorities and other citizens.

On his first day he also meets a person from his world, a girl called Serendine. She is the princess of a country that his country used to be at war with, many years back. Although for her, the conflict is very much ungoing, so he understands why she loathes him. He does his best to appease her and make her consider him less of an enemy. He also found that other people from Haven were there, although out of them he only knew Fujimaru.

In the end he makes aquaintances easily although some probably should have been avoided. Not that he knows that. He quickly started to help out gathering resources for a secret soup kitchen in the poorer mongrel area, where he lived. Due to Haven he had eating issues to get through either way, so he could offer more to others than he ate himself.

Not far into his stay, a Pet and Retainer Acution was held, where mongrels were sold to essentially be slaves to Elites. Both Rose and Izumo had been captured and Mu already didn't like the system; this didn't help at all. While Rose was saved, Izumo was sold.

Due to a conversation with Rose, he starts to learn how to play guitar. When a heatwave hits Midas (the area where Mongrels lives) he got to learn a little bit about electric fans, but electronics are pretty much as confusing to him as magic is.

On various occasions, a new area on Amoi (the planet they're on) opens after restoration finishes. Sometimes it's not all finished though, like was the case in Her Bay. My and a man he got to know called Hitoshura, encountered an abandoned pool in a place full of dangerously dangling cables and rubble. And him and Fujimaru stumbled over a haunted (supposedly, since sometimes it was hard to tell the difference for someone as unfamiliar to both ghosts and technology as Mu) place. When visiting a reopened hotel, he met Dylas in one of the indoor pools, much to Dylas' embarrassment (because Dylas is not used to casual compliments). And about hugs, too. But since they're all alone you gotta take the chance when you can. He also takes the chance to go spelunking with Rose, and since he got the opportunity to have a wish fulfilled, he asked for the "DEFECTIVE" tattoo over his heart to be romoved; it's a thing he's been hating ever since he got it, back in Haven and the Loyalty test.

After a while Mu got a job as a waitor at a restaurant, which he adapted to easily, and enjoyed. He also became acquaintanced with a man called Iskandar (or Alexander the Great) who gave Mu some well needed guidance on the subject of being a leader, as well as discussed the differences between humans and fanalis. He also gets a friend to bar-hop with, an Elite called Henry. Rose also disappears from Amoi, not long after.

Izumo's "owner" humiliated Izumo on the network where everyone, including Mu, could see, and this infuriated Mu, who normally doesn't hold grudges but he definitely holds a grudge toward Iroha. After an Elite named Jin bought Izumo and freed him, Izumo lived with Mu for a while, until Izumo disappeared from Amoi without a trace.

One time when he is out for a walk he encounters Serendine trying to kick sand at a misbehaving boat, because she is homesick. Not that he can't see the reason behind it but when he tells her that it's probably not going to help by kicking around she kicks sand at him instead. Not that that helps either.

He met a woman with an odd octopuslike suit of armor, that could climb around with all its extra limbs, and he also learned about dickpics golf and also discussess the differences between the Pet/Retainer system and slavery, as well as expreiences in being "different" from other people.

Later, when a new area of Amoi is opened, a place just called the South-East Sector, he ends up being roped into looking though (and trying stuff at) the sex machine museum. But he also went to the reservoir and the zoo, and saw digital recreations of the fanalis that looks like beasts, the true form that he can shapeshift into, and he had a conversation about them with Serendine. Although it derailed into a heated debate on politics and her hatred for Reimians. There is a beautiful lake in the South-East Sector though so he later visits it to cool his head, and underwater he meets the lady that he discussed slavery/P&R differences with, Karmin. It turns out they get along well, although he can't tell what she is (she's not a human, that's for sure.)

A week or so later, he meets a man called Gyro and discusses different wolds and paralell universes with him. As paralell universes are a recent discovery in his world, and Mu has gotten used to the thought and existance of them, he is not bothered by the fact that maybe he might encounter another himself, or other paralell world-ish things, while Gyro did not like the thought of other hims existing. Mu also betriends a lady with rabbit ears called Fran who is aViera, who is an archer, and they're both intrigued by each others clear differences from humans.

Mu is very happy to get a visit at work from Dylas, who is the only one of his close friends still in Amoi. He also comes a little closer to a less shaky relationship with Serendine, during a visit to the Wastelands where he was hunting in his true fanalis form. She even cooks the wild animal that he caught, althoughi with the promise that she would get to use his body for her research if the unfamiliar animal turned out to be poisonous and killed him.

Half a year later and the next Pet and Retainer Conferance is held. This time, due to an unwise decision of learning more about electronics, Mu ends up a pet. At least he is bought by someone that he knows, and who doesn't require much of him. Karmin only wants him to not touch two of her particular possessions, and not enter her bedroom, and he's used to following orders, so that's no problem. Unfortunately, she disappears not long after, and he's left without an owner. Which is where he's left at now; he looks for Karmin on a regular basis but he also works, spars with those of his friends that fights, and learns how to play guitar. He tends to not let most of his possessions out of reach because he is still wary of any situation that might turn up.

Dylas ♥ Mu is sure Dylas doesn't know how calming he is to be around, at least to the Fanalis. Sometimes he says things that are a little confusing, but that's alright, because Mu adores Dylas, and is close to thinking of him as pack.		Izumo ♥ This man is incredibly confusing, and sort of weird. However, he is interesting and might be a good person. He could afford to act less secretive and flirt less, but he's someone likes a lot. (But just as a friend, Izumo.)		Lady Rose ♥ Someone he's known for almost the entire time of his stay in Haven. Rose is a charming young woman who has disappeared and reappeared several times. He feels guilty for being happy, but he really likes her. He has still not shown her his swordsdance.

Lady Amane ♥ An interesting young woman whos s scent has changed since he first met her. She's polite and nice, and he enjoys her company quite a lot.		Masaomi ♥ So Masaomi might not be the most popular person in Haven, but Mu likes him a lot. He likes him enough to adopt him into the Alexius family, even. He is a dear friend who has helped Mu on more than one occasion. Mu still feels guilty for being unable to save him on Kite's sacrificial spiral.		Sir Mikado ♥ A decent young man who first just was a friend of Masaomi (and thus someone he automatically wants to protect) but Mu has grown to like him.

"Miss" X This is a woman that he dislikes pretty badly. She outed Rose on the network, called her a monster, and put her in danger. It's a type of person that Mu can't stand, and he will never consider liking her. He thinks she doesn't deserve the respect of politeness, but he's still polite.		Yomiel N At first, Mu thought he seemed like an okay guy, but after Yomiel shot him, kidnapped him, and brought him to Kite, Mu started to dislike him immensely. When he heard that Yomiel hurt other people as well, he started to outright hate him.		Sir Sakamoto ♥ Sometimes (most times) the guy makes no sense, but it makes for interesting conversations, even if  they also happen to be odd. He's a friend that easily makes Mu smile due to how he acts and what he says.
